Prof. Roger B. Porter
IBM Professor of Business and Government at Harvard University
Roger B. Porter is the IBM Professor of Business and Government and Master of Dunster House at Harvard University.
He is also a Senior Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, DC, and Faculty
Chairman of Harvard’s Program for Senior Managers in Government.
Professor Porter served for more than a decade in senior economic policy positions for Presidents Ford, Reagan and
George H.W. Bush. He also serves on the boards of over a dozen major U.S. corporations. From 1989-1993 as a
member of the Bush Administration, he held the post of Assistant to the President for Economic and Domestic Policy.
In the Reagan White House, Mr. Porter served as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the White
House Office of Policy Development. In the Ford White House, Mr. Porter was Special Assistant to the President
and Executive Secretary of the President?s Economic Policy Board.
